Microaggressions and racism prevent that. And they are tricky! How do we prevent psychologically damaging interactions and create an environment where everyone is treated with dignity? We address it head-on…with training and support!
This series balances learning and practice so every member of our community knows what microaggressions are, how they harm the whole community, and what to do when they witness them, experience them, or even perpetuate them. Series Focus:
Perception is our reality, but our perceptions are not necessarily the singular truth. Understanding our brain's neuroscience is key to seeing our perceptions and biases and unlearning implicit bias. During this interactive and surprisingly joyful series, we diffuse unproductive emotions like shame or blame by starting with the science and exploring how the mind works from there. All participants leave the workshop understanding how implicit biases negatively impact their students or their community and how to neutralize them, in order to take concrete action to interrupt and shift their behavior.
